Each MJ Woodcraft board begins long before the first cut is made. It starts with choosing the right piece of wood—one with grain, character, and presence. I don’t just select materials; I listen to them. Each species, each slab, has its own story to tell.
process
Brought to life through hours of quiet, focused craft.
Once selected, the shaping begins—slowly, carefully, with respect. I work by hand as much as possible, allowing the natural beauty of the wood to guide the design. There’s no mass production here, only individual pieces brought to life through hours of quiet, focused craft.
A deeply personal process.
Edges are softened, surfaces are smoothed, imperfections are embraced or refined depending on what the wood calls for. The final touches—natural mineral oils and orange wax—are applied with the same care, enhancing the colour and grain while protecting the piece. Every finish I use is food-safe and chosen for both performance and purity.
From start to finish, the process is deeply personal. It’s about making something lasting, something honest, something that feels good to hold and better to live with.
